One of the most powerful figures in the entire Dragon Ball universe, Vegito is still something of a mystery.
The Dragon Ball franchise is already chock-full of anime’s most powerful fighters. These warriors ascend to nearly infinite levels of power, but there are methods for them to go beyond that and become even more powerful. One of the most incredible ways is fusion, which allows two characters to combine their abilities and personalities. Of these fusions, the most powerful comes from the Super Saiyan heroes Goku and Vegeta — by using a tool of the Kais, the two are able to form one of the multiverse’s strongest fighters, Vegito.
Vegito was introduced in the final stretch of Dragon Ball Z, but the character himself is still a bit of a mystery. Fusion is all well and good, but how does it work when it comes to creating a whole new person?
How Do Goku And Vegeta Create Vegito?
There are two forms of fusion within the Dragon Ball franchise: people can either use the Fusion Dance or the Potara Earrings. While the tricky and specific Fusion Dance can accomplish the same effect (and creates a similar figure known as Gogeta), the Earrings are an automatic process that instantly fuses the two characters together. This amplifies their powers by combining their peak strength. The Potara Earrings are a creation of the Kais, designed as a means for them to merge their own powers in times of great danger. While the fusion lasts forever for the Kais, it only bonds mortals together for an hour before they separate back into their natural forms.
While fighting Super Buu during the “Buu Saga,” the Kais decided to assist the Z-Warriors with the magical threat. Goku initially intended to fuse with Gohan to fight the big pink bad guy but, after Buu absorbed his son before he could grab the earring, Goku was stuck fusing with his long-time rival Vegeta instead. As the result of a fusion between Goku and Vegeta — both incredibly powerful figures on their own — Vegito is one of the most powerful fighters in the Dragon Ball franchise. He’s capable of many classic attacks can, of course, use the signature techniques of both Goku and Vegeta. He has access to the Super Saiyan transformations that can vastly multiply their powers.
Vegito also stands out for having many new skills, like the Banshee Blast and the Spirit Sword. Some of these attacks actually combine some of Goku and Vegeta’s strongest attacks, giving Vegito uniquely powerful skills. These moves include the Final Kamehea, which combines Goku’s signature Kamehameha Wave with Vegeta’s ultimate attack, the Final Flash. Beyond these amazing abilities, Vegito’s greatest attribute might be his combination of Vegeta’s strategic mindset with Goku’s natural ingenuity in combat. The result is a fusion of nearly opposite personalities into a single new person that’s even more effect in a fight.
Vegito actually inherited primarily positive aspects of both heroes, doing away with the bickering that’d usually come from the pair acting as a team. Because of this, Vegito is a fighter who’s able to have some fun with a fight in a way similar to Goku — but with Vegeta’s eagerness to win under any circumstances. This makes Vegito uncommonly crafty and skillful in the battlefield, and capable of adapting to major threats like Majin Buu in Dragon Ball Z and Fused Zamasu in Dragon Ball Super when other heroes could never match those villains’ strength. It all makes Vegito one of the most impressive figures in the galaxy.
